Old Enough To Be President - A Film By Connor Ratliff
This week we are posting a very special documentary via the TCGS podcast, “Old Enough To Be President”. It’s a self-produced and directed chronicle by Connor Ratliff detailing his own presidential campaign. It’s hilarious, oddly poignant at times, and very genuinely well done. Connor just finished committing to a bit where he ran for president, and it lasted over fifteen months. Based on sheer endurance alone, I can say it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever had the pleasure to help facilitate it. Please watch this one - I think you’ll enjoy it. And please do spread word that this exists. I think anyone who finds it will appreciate it.
I was honored to serve as Connor’s Ohio chair. I went door to door for him, and kind of got him on the Ohio ballot. I helped organize a rally at an airport for him. But due to bureaucracy, red tape, and the pernicious effect of special interests, we were not able to sign a lease on our Ohio campaign headquarters until last Tuesday, after voting had already begun. I’m pretty sure Connor would have won Ohio if I had done a better job, and everyone says that the winner of Ohio was certain to be president, so I feel like I single-handedly cost him the election. For that, Connor, I’m sorry.
In 2016, Connor will be in his forties, and therefore, too old to be President. I hope there’s some thirty-one year old out there with big dreams who will let me sign onto his campaign. I’ve already got the Ohio campaign office leased.
