The worst thing about Jon Stewart’s Crossfire tirade wasn’t the smugness with which it was delivered; it was that, in attacking Tucker Carlson, Stewart showed that he didn’t really understand his target. Maybe Carlson has never been a great television figure, but he is a serious journalist,[1] and as the video above shows, a serious person.
