"She sold the plane at a loss"
That’s what Barbara Walters says in the fourth clip here. McCain says something like, “What should she have done, kept it?” Barbara says something like, “Gotten her money back.” I’ve seen a variant of this argument on many liberal blogs.
Seriously, has everyone become an idiot over Sarah Palin?
Planes, like cars, depreciate when you drive them off the lot. If you buy a car and then sell it the following year, you’re not going to get all of “you money back.” Why would anyone think that planes would be any different?
And the loss isn’t that bad when you consider that the State of Alaska had the use of a the plane for 2 years. If you consider of value of leasing a plane for two years and compare it to the difference between the sale and purchase price, I’m not sure that there was any loss at all.
Again, has everyone become an idiot over Sarah Palin?
